I decided that it was too dorky to wear the Santa hat Mom & Dad gave me, and I let them know with several unhappy faces and words. This was to be my first airplane ride, which I didn’t even know what that meant, but I sure as heck wasn’t going to look like a dork while doing it!
Grandpa Ron & Grandma Donna dropped us at the airport, and that’s when the excitement began. Mom and Dad had all these cool bags with wheels on them, I tried to help push them but they were too heavy. So Dad ended up just carrying me as we went to the ticket counter. Apparently the guy behind the desk really wanted our big suitcase, so Daddy was nice and gave it to him. Sure hope there wasn’t anything in there we needed.
Then we were off, Mom carried me and two bags and Dad drug our two suitcases and our coats. What a lot of stuff! The next thing I knew, I was losing my shoes and they put Bear through this big machine! I was pretty upset until I saw the man with the wand was wearing a Santa hat! Oh boy I thought, I have one of those! And fortunately, Mom had brought it along, so I could look cool too!
[flickr]5343413347[/flickr]After we got our shoes back on and the nice lady checked my cup to make sure it was safe (that was very nice of her) we headed down a long hall and I got to see my first airplane! And all sorts of really neat trucks that go “beep beep”!
Mom and Dad were pretty worried about the plane ride, but I wasn’t. I had a great time! I crawled from Mom’s lap to Dad’s lap and back again. Looking out the window at all the people and big trucks was fun, and so was waving at the nice lady at the front of the plane. Then there was all sorts of noise and Daddy was pointing outside. Everything started going really fast and then we were in the air! WOW, look at all the trees! That’s neat, but wait look here! A magazine in the pocket in front of us! It has lots of pictures, and there’s doggies in some of them!
We met Grandma Donna & Grandpa Gil in Milwaukee, where there were MORE airplanes and MORE trucks! Finally, we made it to this place called “Washington” and Uncle Greg was there to pick us up. Boy, I was glad to see him because I was tired.
