It’s been a very busy month with lots of events to keep us busy. Here’s a quick recap.
Thanksgiving brought 21 family members to our house for fun, family and lots of food. Some highlights of the festivities include the following: seasoning a turkey that spilled drippings in the silverware drawer, setting alarms for 3:00 a.m. to start the ham, the group effort of creating garlic mashed potatoes, and serving up our zucchini pie. The kids ran outside, upstairs, downstairs, and all around, the adults laughed, visited, and watched football, and everyone left with a full tummy!

Perhaps it was spurred by the 10:30 p.m. “Black Friday” trip to Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving night or the viewing of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation movie. In any case, the house began to look and smell a lot like Christmas soon after the leftover turkey was put away. The outdoor lights were turned on and the garlands hung. We took a family trip on a windy Sunday to the Christmas tree farm to select the perfect tree–one in a secluded, non-windy grove. When the tree was decorated, the preparations moved to the kitchen as Jill and Grace began the holiday baking and candy-making. Within a week, the Christmas holiday was in full swing!

Ready or not, the holiday is fast approaching!
