Spring Break = Project Time

It seems spring break at our house always means project time. With extra time off, the Janes crew manages to find something to keep us busy each year: fireplaces, bathroom remodels, landscape planning…the list goes on. This year’s project: major work on the castle bed.

Though we have been plugging along on the bed for over a month now, it was time to get down to business. With grandparents and an offer to help paint on the way for a weekend visit, Geoff took two days off so we could forge ahead with the castle. Jill’s motivation = her OCD for unfinished projects. Geoff’s motivation = the fact that he very much dislikes to paint. And motivated we were! With no progress on the project since our last post, we worked hard in the last four days to finish a third tower and entryway, archways to a balcony, the front of the castle and windows, and the balcony railing, as well as paint the majority of the structure. The hard work was met with happiness by two little princesses!

Stay tuned for more pictures as we add the finishing touches!
